I made a call and chatted with him letting him know that I would grab everything from him, but it would be at scrap value. I was very straight forward with him and told him that if he gets any offers before we get together for individual items to take them. he thankd me and said he would call at the end of the weekend.

6 minutes later I got a call back from him wanting to know more. So I went into detail on prices for various components, etc. and am set up to see him in the morning.\

The word "immediately" screamed out to me in this add. Not that I would have not contacted him otherwise, but I knew that I would probably be able to close a deal for his stuff before the weekend was over.

I don't think it is a ton of stuff. I am thinking I may be paying 30 -50 for 60 -100 worth. He lives within 2 miles from me. It may even be less. Hopefully will be much more.

I sent an e-mail I have 10 good panasonic cf-51 that sell good on E-bay and am looking for a good computer guy in the area to work with on parting out the good stuff. This might be a great lead. Keep checking out the craigslist computer section. It has been doing me very well.

Good luck on it..make sure you dont over pay..try to take some kind of scale so you know how much you paid..and how much you will make.

About what I expected. there was someone there already grabbing a big server other board and a few other parts and I waited until he was done. I ended up spending $30 on over a pound of ram, some hard drives, pound and a half of finger cards and a whole mess of wire and cables.

I broke it all down and ended up with just over $60 worth of scrap, a couple of cords to hang onto and an AT&T video phone that I will try to sell. I also chatted a bunch with the other guy there buying stuff and we exchanged numbers. He said he was a hardware junkie and just likes to tinker. He may need some of the working stuff I have at better than scrap value and I will be able to get his broken stuff.

The guy we were buying from was a very nice guy and he lives less than 2 blocks from me and kept my number as well. He is wheelchair bound and I am going to try and find him a couple things he wanted for his garage. So I made a new contact and maybe a new friend from down the street.

and thats why I have a scale and a boat load of cash in my truck at all times.

When you come by something like this you have to JUMP on it...that kinda happened to me....but will explain this better later lol
