Hair Drier Dissasembly
So I was thinking about some of the questions we get from new members. What is inside of "anything". So I figured I make some video's to show what is inside some of the more simplest items.
Below is a slideshow of a hair drier being disassembled.
May be useful information, or just a comedy act, either way it was fun to make.

You placed those little bits of metal so neatly in a line :)

A very well done video. The photos were in focus, something I have problems with., Mike.

Thanks,
My phone takes some pretty decent pictures.

Did you keep the nickel chrome heating element separate?

Yep, there around here somewhere.

Cool Vid!
(Still No speakers where I am though :( )
Anyone doing ALL that has entirely "TOO MUCH time on their hands" ,IMO.
Atleast just take it by the cord , swing it into pavement, and see IF there's a motor inside.
Then cut the 55% copper power cord (of course)...
"put them into a washer":
Heck been thinking fill the washer with water, outside overni9ght, then scrap it (full of ice) ...[/evl]
Not really, I would not really do that.

My wife gave me a hair dryer the other day and asked can you scrap this? Sure can, so I cut the wire off and busted the rest up and the last thing I did was the GFI plug. Didn't realize it was a GFI plug until then. Pushed the reset button and it reset. As I looked at the pieces scattered around the bench I realized the dryer was probably fine before except it needed reset. Next time check first, then destroy.

Ya, I break down everthing that I can get my hands on right now. I'm a really curious type and I don't have a lot of experience knowing before hand what has value and what does not. I know that I would rather strip #1 copper cable than a hair dryer, but I break down what I have to make the best return that I can and it's all good experience and fun. Thanks to all of you that post useful helpful information on this forum.
