Printer component...
I have these printer components with the wire attached. Appease to be gold once you break the plastic off. What would it be considered like motherboard grade? Or what? What do you do with them? Especially the wires...

I was just wondering this myself just the other day...
-
Is that where the ink cartridge connects?
-
Yep parrot...right where the cartridge connects to.
-
That would be interesting to find out for sure.
Since it is gold, it has to be worth something?
-
There is a guy, that scrapping e-scrap, much like most of you... I instructed him to just cut off the squares where the gold is printed on.
Every now and then he comes by with several pounds of cut mylars, laced with gold for me to refine it for him...
Just collect them and find someone to refine it for you. the rest of the mylar is going to low grade wire...
-
Wow. It must take a lot of them to accumulate several pounds worth.
-
I save those but have not tried to sell any yet. Also behind that is a high grade board, small but they add up.
-
not gold, thats silver mylar if im looking at it correctly
-
Those are used for gold refining. Never saved them, but that is what my refiner tells me.
-
Would those be acceptable (and worthwhile) thrown in with the high grade boards?
-
mylar has its own category, there is 3 types of mylar/ribbon cable, gold, silver and tin
