cast iron wood stove buried at bottom of my neighbors dumpster

and public works (eastbay mud) is fixing waterlines right down the street with a backhoe

you think one of the guys would be down to load it in my pickup truck for like a $20 or something??

the dumpster is being taken out today and welll im not really into the stove too much if it will just be sold for scrap BUT my dad says those things are really valuable and I could probably flip it for a lot more cash

just that my truck is full of all the other stuff from the dumpster and i dont wanna unload everything to pickup just one more piece of scrap (OMG half of the dumpster was filled with power tools and small engines and well I just emptied a dumpster halfway of all scrap!!! my best score EVER)

he also GAVE me 135 +/-10 1in dia, 5ft long stainless steel pipes!!! where do you reckon i should try and sell these??? contact a contractor or something???

also got a filing cabinet full of porn lolol!!




please reply quick with your opinions on the stove cuase the guy said the dumpsters gonna be picked up later this afternoon!!!!

the one in the pic i found on craigslist which says going for about $175 in working condition... i dont know if that thing is in working condition.. and the owner of the dumpster doesnt speak english or spanish so i didnt ask him

seems like all the good condition ones are going for about 200-400 and there doesnt seem to be any old crusty ones for sale like the one in the dumpster sooooo maybe there wouldnt be a market for that thing... in fact i cant even find any old crusty wood stoves on craigslist

I get old woodstoves all the time - got one on the pile right now. First problem - these things are HEAVY. I use a tractor and pallet forks to lift them. Second problem is they are ALWAYS damaged somehow. Third - even if you did sell it; Are you paying freight charge? If I found one in a dumpster, that's where it'd stay. It's #1 Iron and worth around 0.15/lb. But not worth what it'd take to get it out of there. Take the tools, etc and be happy with those.

I was able to winch a freaking 300lb machine thing into the back of my truck using a door, a strap and my arms... the stove was freaking solid though

oh yeah so i was cleaining out my closet last week and found my nintendo 64 and was like awesome!! then i noticed it was missing the tv cord and i was like bummer :(... so im sorting through the wires and im like "this cord looks familiar" flip it over and whats it say? "nintendo"!!!!!

If it possible i never leave metal behind . even if i have to use my 4 lb mallet.

Cast breaks up easy with a sledgehammer. Take it out in pieces if you were just gonna scrap it anyways.

Yes, cast breaks easy..please wear safety glasses and use heavy work gloves to handle the sharp shards!! Short handles 3 lb sledge, hit the flat surfaces and avoid the corners.
