i recently well 7 months ago bought a vaporizer and added it to my torch set up..wasnt cheap was like 1200 bucks..but im seeing slight improvements in my torches performances...does anyone else use a vaporizer and if so did you notice much improvement in the oxygen flow to the torch?
I use a vaporizer but it sure as hell aint for my torch :-p good times
I use an Oxy/Lpg set up with a Comet 3 torch (old, but very reliable), not sure what a vapourizer is?
What kinda torch are you using on your vap? How many cubic foot per hour is it? Are you using a small liquid oxygen, micro bulk, or a 200 gallon or bigger bulk ox setup? What size piping is your system using? How many reducers do you have in the piping? How many PSI are you trying to run it at?
My current setup is a 3000 gallon bulk tank and two 5700 cubic feet per hour vaps. I plan on doubling the amount of vaporization come spring time well i should rephrase that. I am hoping to be doubling the amount of vaporization come spring time because I am hoping the economy picks up and I can hire more burners.

I found out about a Petrol/Oxy torch, it works better than Oxy/Acetylene on thick steel.

Its a vaporizer. They are aluminum and convert the liquid oxygen into a gas.

Its amazing what differences there are between NZ & the US, we just use the plain old Oxy bottle, black, 5 foot tall, full of Oxygen.
Want more Oxy? Get them by the pallet load....
I mentioned the petrol powered gas cutting plants to the scrapmetal place I use & he just about jumped into the computer to find out about it.
They have 2 or 3 guys gas cutting 8inch dia bars all day, every day. Hell, I'd love that job.
We only have one gas supplier here & they are well known for being difficult & expensive.
Though I have just found out that the Acetylene bottles have to be sent to Asia somewhere to be filled & it takes 3 months to fill a bottle, they have almighty huge barges with thousands & thousands of Acetylene bottles lined up on them, getting filled.
So, along with each fill, you have to pay 3 months + shipping time rental as well...
No wonder they didn't like the 'perpetual owner' gas bottle system.
(In the early days they filled them in NZ, because the bottles cost a lot, they decided to sell each user a bottle, on perpetual ownership, then upgrade them as they wear out..)
Tell the yard owner 10 grand plus the flight and I will come to his yard and set him up so he can have one guy cutting 500 tons a week gt. He just better be ready to drop some cash to get the equipment together to do it and do it right. Deep pockets basically. PM if he is interested. One 8 inch cut probably 30 secs to 45 seconds.
