Thanks for clearing that up. When I lived in London during the 70's, we were told that people drove around in a van with equipment that could tell if you were watching the telly or not. If they caught you without a license (I thought it was for the tv itself, like for a car) you could get in trouble. I think the BBC were on strike for a least some of that time, because I don't remember watching a lot of tv. This was just prior to Margaret Thatcher and it seemed that everyone was on strike in London at one time or the other.
