Treasure or Tea for Two?

I would like to hear people's opinions on this. I bought a some china today - 18 pieces- what was left from dinner set. There were some desert bowls, bread plates, salad plates and saucers, and only two dinner plates.

They are called "Golden Ware" and they appear to be quite old. On the bottom of each piece is written "Golden Ware by Sebring. Warranted 22 Carat Pure Gold". The rims of all the pieces are a gold color and they have a gold design running under the rims.

Can these be refined? Or did I pay five bucks for an elegant dinner for two?

Yes, although they won't yield a huge amount. Goldrefiningforum gives a value for plated glass at around 30c per quare inch. A plus side is that there are no other metals to leach into solution. Read some of their posts to find ot more.

I scored some vase today and it was platinum laced and marked
