Picked up this gas cook top last night, mainly wanted it for the galvanised backing tray, they make an awesome oil drip pan for the garage floor!!
Anyway, thought I would do a quick breakdown for y'all. :)
(appologies, my phone isn't the greatest camera...)
Cook top - Weight 12kg (would be 14kg with the grill bars still on..)

I removed the Alluminium gas piping, burner housings, and burner rings, then removed the Brass gas jets, and brass taps and wire.
Tools used...
1 x 6in Adjustable wrench
1 x Philips No2 screwdriver
1 x Flat 5.0mm Screwdriver
1 x Right arm
Here is what is left.
Alluminium - 1.4kg ($1.54 value)

Brass - 1.00kg ($3.50 value)

Wire (from ignitor circuits) 0.15kg $0.17 value

Steel - 9.45kg $1.13 value

So at current local rates, Total metals value is $6.34
Cost me 10 mins of my time.. Worth it?? up to you..
I did it just because I could,
Thanks :)

I tell you man, after joining this site, I have kicked myself in the butt so many times, just thinking back to day 1 about all the money I have thrown away.
I have seen a few dismantle jobs for a electric stove, but yours actually mentioned what tools you used, and you broke it down into price.
Good job.

DONT FORGET TO SET ASIDE THE THERMOCOUPLE. It could be platinum..... a quick check with xrf gun at the yard will verify what it is made of. They are NOT made of aluminum.
