Has anyone ever taken in one of these things? I know I will be paid per pound for it, but trying to determine if it is worth the trip.
Might sound odd, but never have gotten a stainless steel grille before. Every other kind, but not like this.
If it isn't worth my time, I am just going to pass it to a fellow scrapper.

Anything wrong with it? If not, throw it on CL for $100 or so.
As for worth it...that's up to you. Grills have been covered several times.

Really George, grills take me about 10 minutes to break down. But if you have better things to do, then by all means take it in as is.
At minimum, take the brass valves off.
I see were having another blonde moment or two today scrapping wise...maybe you should work on the investment thing for the rest of the day George. BTW, they are almost as easy to fix as they are to take apart.

I think KZ was pointing out how easy those grills are to fix so that you might consider looking into repairing it for a much better profit.
Most times a $15.00 burner will do the trick.
Not a big company. Just to many scrappers around here that take things without authorization. Plus, I also like dealing mainly with business as they bring in good, profitable loads all the time, but most want to deal with a company, not just an individual. Therefore, I built a website, registered a business, and so on that I have done since I was young.Quote:

Can you lift the grill? What is your best estimate that it weighs?
Around here you would probably get dirty SS price which last I checked was .20 a lb. Clean was .80/lb
BTW, does a magnet stick to it?

Yeah, I will call the yard tomorrow, but you are right that it would be dirty. Granted, I would break it down, but even then the majority of it would still be there.

Yeah, it is. Figured that would happen. However, normally as long as I can email (when there is no number present) an ad before it is deleted, then normally I always get contacted later on to remove something for the people. Not always, but sometimes.Quote:

My suggestion George is to run your numbers or think twice about your text before you post...too many inconsistencies and some of us can see right thru you. Not a personal attack just a reality check.
