Foot and Dad Update
Thought I would give a quick update on things.
First on my foot...Saw the doc and they have decided that surgery is not the way to go. According to what they were saying after seeing the x-rays and the ultrasound that it is a mass of scar tissue. It has something to do with the tendons or whatever that stretch from the ball of the foot to the heel. The doc said it has a lot to do with the fact that I am on my feet all the time...So he gave me an insert to go in my boots. He said the surgery would likely keep me off my feet for at least a month. So that is not going to happen. So it ends up being one of those things that I just have to get used too.
Now for the update on my Dad....He will go in for surgery on Oct 27th. It has been a long wait getting to this point and it will be great to finally get through it all. The doctors are confident that they will be able to get all the cancer with the surgery but they will also keep a close eye on things to make sure that it does not come back.

Thanks everyone....Dee, I can notice a bit of a difference. There seems to be less pressure on the arch of my foot where the scar tissue resides. I am hoping that this continues. Insurance won't cover the inserts because they say that it is for comfort and not healing but thankfully they are only $32 and last about 6 months at a time.

CS, you are both in my thoughts and I used to work for a Podiatrist so i know the kind of pain you were dealing with. Surgery would have involved cutting the muscles I think so you are better with the inserts - they will help tremendously. I used to have a professional pair and I loved them, I wish I still had them the dog ate them. I'll be praying for your dad, keep us posted.
