new to scraping
Hello All
I'm Tami from the twin cities in Minnesota. I started scraping just this last week and have already fallen in love with it. Love everything about it so far. The hunt, the challenge , the surprise, the recycle cycle, the money etc etc.
I've been in the landscaping and construction business for over 20 yrs. I had my own landscaping/handy person business for 18 plus yr. I hurt my back and have bad knees so am looking at some new ways of making a living that involves things I already know about. I have a truck, trailer and tools, now I just need to learn the details of the metal recycling business.
I'm use to going in and out of "yards", had to do that with landscaping and construction debris but it was always me paying them to dump my stuff :) (I hate to think of the stuff I have thrown away over the years)
I've learn a lot so for from the forum, but am still learning the "lingo" and names for things and items. I'm willing to and plan on learning all that I can through my own hard work and experiences, but also hope to learn a lot from this forum and everyone here that has that hard earned knowledge.
thanks --- Tami
ps. the storage place where I rent a unit has a "dump area" that they said I can have :)... Lots of stuff in there, ( they also repair motor homes so lots of metal ) so I may be asking some question right of the bat.

Welcome to the forum, Tami. There's a lot to learn here.

as people have noted you have all that you need. Welcome and hope this works out for you in the long run.
Here is one clue...keep an eye out for computers.

Welcome Tami, sounds like you've already got the scrapping bug. That alone generates enough motivation to start learning and if you take the advice already given and spend some time in the archives, you'll probably find the answers to most of your questions there. Read all you can in the question and answer section and the advice and tips, and watch the videos. I look forward to following your progress. Best of luck.

Welcome Tami, take a look around ton's of info and links for other good stuff...knowledge pays in this business. BTW I grew up in the Lake Minnetonka area but have lived in Denver since the mid 80's.

Welcome Tami! Love seeing more females getting into this business - used to be when I started out, all men but not any more!!
