New to the site.

I live in Michigan around the Detroit and Ann Arbor area. I started working in a scrapyard a year ago, doing tear down upgrades and loading shred cans. Try to start a asphalt maintenance company and have not been doing very well so I went back to what I know scrapping and it feels good to be back in scrap business. I do have a limited liability company now that is fully insured wondering how I can mix scrap business with my limited liability company. Maybe, like demolition scrap removal business or of actually would like to start buying scrap buy low sell high. Any ideas would be helpful.That year that I spent at the scrapyard I was actually not out scrapping but I do know my ferrous and nonferrous metals and how to do upgrades and tear down and a little bit about carbide and high-speed steel. Now I just need to go out and get more material pretty much starting from scratch little money but I do love the scrap business it has never failed me. Love to hear from anybody any good ideas or just chat with you guys. Thanks 0112todd

All I can say is start reading there is a ton of info all over this site.

If I was you...look into E-waste. It is a very high paying scrap...many items are worth far more than clean copper. Again there is a ton of info on this an many other things on this website!

Yep, copper and alum. are fairly easy to stockpile without taking up a ton of room. And if you strip copper wire the take grows and grows. Tho' it did take a heavy hit this week. http://www.metalprices.com/index.asp
