HVAC Hardware
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and recycling in general and have a few questions!
My Dad is a self employed HVAC Technician so I am always getting heat pumps, ACs, compressors, blower casing/wheel and motors. I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to break down full units for maximum profit, what exactly to do with compressors and blower motors, and if low gauge wiring is worth taking the time to strip? I was told by a friend of a friend to cut all of the soldered copper joints out and throw them in a #2 copper box and the "clean" copper in #1 box. Also I was told to cut the metal plates and copper rings off of both ends of the coils. Hopefully this is accurate seeing as how I've already finished two coils with this method. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a ton fellas and I am glad to be here.

Hmmm. Just about every question there can be answered in the archives.

Yes, you did right by cutting the steel off the ends of the radiators, and yes there is lots more to you can pick up from reading. You will be surprised what else is hiding in these forums. It can be hard to find the info sometimes, but keep digging.
You have a nice leg up in this business with that connection.
