Breaking down my first load of E Scrap.

I recently came across my first load of E Scrap, about 7 CRT's and 2 Printers from a guys garage on top of a pile of insulated wire that goes along with everything. I believe the CRT's only have motherboards in them except for the copper wire that is visible. I broke my first one down in about 20 minutes and have the rest to do this week. Im hoping im saving everything i should be (reading post after post on here about them), and i want to find someone to buy the scrap from me (none of the yards around me do). I have googled it and it all may be legit, im still leary of getting ripped off. I know some of you buy on this forum. If anyone has tips or anyone would like to see what ive got, send me a message. Great find,checkout how to dispose of the monitors. As of 7-1-11 new laws went into effect,can no longer put them in the land fill.If i can be of any help,let me know.

I may be wrong but both crt's and printers just have low grade boards in them.

Yep they are just low grade boards. My buyer says that in order to buy them, they have to have all the aluminum heat sinks, and copper windings. I just say to hell with it, tear off the copper/alum and throw the boards with my scrap.

How do i tell the difference between low grade and others?

What mine told me was all those flat chips on them is what made for a higher price paid. I remove all alum/copper windings and if they have a lot of chips I still get a decent price on them. Otherwise I get like 30 cents a pound but some he buys for up to a buck a piece. but, hes the only one that buys them out of the 3 places I turn in so somewhere by you might be different in what they want.

Id love to find someone in my area who takes this stuff so they could see it and tell me what is what. Havent found anywhere yet.

i know that easyrecycle buys escrap if you wanna give him a pm. I know at least one guy on the forum who has dealt with him and had nothing but good things to say about the guy.

Printer boards to me are high grade as long as they look like the desktop motherboards an not like the crt boards.

Someone in another thread mentioned that its amazing how each yard differs in these things and he/she was right. Even what mine tell me is different from the posts I am seeing here. Different mind sets I guess but you would think ALL yards would be the same and they just aren't.
