I was wondering if the yard would buy the anode I believe it's called? It's the thing in the middle of the water heater relief valve it looks like copper or brass it's got white paint or something on it
Number 2 tube?. The valves those are red brass right.
Edit: So actually i would say that they are breakage due to the rod threw the middle is Stainless steel.
The T&P valve can be red brass or yellow brass. Got to scratch them to see what color they are under the finish some have on them. if im not sure, i throw them in the yellow brass and let the yard guys pull them out if they think they are red brass. Best is to ask what the yard guys take them as.
Since we're talking about breakage, are your yards giving a miscellaneous copper or brass breakage rate or are they always trying to sort it in lower value grades (i.e. rotors, transfos, ferrous copper...)?
I got them all done that was fun used a sawsall. Also the white thing in the middle at least on the ones I had are copper so would that go as tube num 2 since it's got some kind of white paint or paper on it?.
