Away from the forum
I need to be away for the forum for the next days or weeks. My mom was not feeling too well in the last days. Saturday, we went to see the doctor who sent us to the local ER and they transferred her immediately by ambulance to a larger hospital with more specialized care. Her health has improved, but she's still too weak for surgery. Doctors tell us lots of bad and good things, but all expect to stay there for at least two weeks. In the next days, I'll obviously be at the hospital with her.

Here's a quick update. My mom has passed away yesterday early in the morning. No one is ready for such event and the next weeks will be really tough, but at least she didn't suffer. Everything went way so fast. Last year she survived to a rare type of breast cancer. Three weeks ago, we went to her family doctor for a routine checkup, everything was fine, but she was feeling tired when we went home from that appointment. We thought it could be a cold or flu. We passed a Covid-19 test and it was negative. No other choice that it has to be a pneumonia. We went to the doctor's office for a antibiotics prescription, but instead she referred us to the local hospital and they transferred her the same day to a regional centre. It seems that she had a second cancer and they were still investigating to confirm that, but it all ended in a week. It seems that it is rare, but possible that a cancer could be so aggressive that it wins in less than a month.

I am sorry for your loss. I agree the best that can be said is that is was mercifully fast. Take the time to grieve and help your family. Come back here when you are ready or just need to vent. 73, Mike
