Need some help

Hey fellas! I'm a contractor who does carry out these construction works of building, generally residential houses and make use of the scrap materials again for the next job. I tried to utilize the whole of the materials we have for construction. If there are any construction-related people here, what do I do with the scrap material other than the materials used for other construction works? Rather than dumping, it would be great to find some company or a service provider who can recycle them. I got to know about this efficient garbage bin rental service, and I think they are right for the job. But is it worth it? Are there any other ways in which I can make them recycled without spending much on it? I don't want this to be an issue that concerns me, but unfortunately, it is. Need some help.

At this point recycling anything other than metal is probably a losing proposition for whoever is involved

Unless it is metal that can be easily recycle and reused (as it is meltable and reformable), I dont think there is much you can do with it. Unless you have a whole bunch, like..... enough that you could open a store that sell second hand material, I dont think there is anywhere but the dump for it to go.

If it is full reusable stuff like uncut pieces of wood or half used boxes of screws etc etc there is definitely resale value as is on facebook marketplace, but you'd need to wait till you had a bunch I would assume, which means you would need somewhere to store it. No one is going to buy a single, second hand, 2x4..... but if you have 10 2x4s you may be able to sell to someone who just needs a few for a project for less than the store sells them for. Some people just return what they dont use and get their full money back. Like if they order 1000 2x4s and only use 800.... they just return the other 200.

If you are talking about actual construction scraps like cut wood and stuff, that is definitely only going to the dump

There are really no simple answers to your post. It's entirely situational.

I would say this: The general trend in construction these days is to contract for waste disposal services. It's no different from hiring any other sub contractor on the project.

Simply a part of the cost of building a house.

A lot of construction type items can be ground up. Drywall, studs (with nails). Carpet can be recycled. Shingles can be ground up(again, with nails). If you want to sort, you might break even on sorting costs over dump fees. But you're also talking dump trailer loads. And either buying a tub grinder, or finding places that will do it.

I once saw a metal banding chipper on youtube. I thought it was cool. But not cool enough to buy one then spools of metal banding just for the fun of chipping it. (Yes, I do stuff like that. I once bought an ounce of silver and mixed it with lead for the fun of it.)

I think you are right.

I was thinking along the same lines but wanted to give the OP the benefit of the doubt.

Doesn't seem like a well disciplined professional building contractor but maybe a native French Canadian using a translator program ?

It feels more Asian though. :-/
