Aviation scrap?
I am an artist on the East coast who works with making casts of crushed metal to be reproduced in plastic.
I understand that it is very hard to get aviation scrap from a fire or accident; I understand the liability concerns for those who take these materials.
However, if I am just trying to use a crushed airplane to take casts from, or even just borrow it for this purpose, would that be at all possible?
Very curious anyone's thoughts. I in no way want to get anyone in this profession in trouble.
I am located in New York. Thank you all.
Best,
J

Go to local regional airports, ask around at hangers most repair shops have scraps laying around, you may need to sign paperwork stating your not going to resale as airworthy etc. "Federal Offense"
