Super Trash Score!!!
It finally happened to me! Buddy of mine from church saw someone throwing out this TREASURE!!! They gave it to him for free. He didn't know what it was but knew it was a crime to throw something like this out. I'm big into music (bass & trombone player) so he brought it to me.
Turns out.. its a 1959 Silvertone 1415 (possibly 1317) electric guitar... and IT WORKS!!!!! I'm super jazzed about it as these are valuable guitars. ($500-$1200) It came in what looks to be original case with original cord! If any of you have one or have suggestions about it PLEASE let me know. I'm tossed up about restoring it or selling it or keeping it. I'm a bass player but my daughter is up and coming and wants to play guitar. In all my research so far I haven't seen one with the red "Silvertone" emblem. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I would keep it if I played Guitar.. actually I might anyway and then restore it - and still keep it.
No one ever throws away drums in working condition that I have seen (plenty of drummers thrown away) - but if they did and they were vintage and worked, I would keep em' (been playing drums for 35 years now). I can collect enough metallic waste to equal that $ amount in enough time or otherwise generate that $$ but these are hard to replace. I would keep it.

That's a beauty. Can't believe anyone would throw it away. Lucky save.

I can't confirm it but i'm guessing it was a house clean out and whoever it was had no clue what he had. Can only imagine what else he threw out!
