Hello from Maryland
Just joined to learn about better options for scrapping cars and auto parts. Usually I buy something from a salvage auction for the parts to rebuild a car I have and then part out the unneeded usable parts and scrap the rest. With car bodies only 5.75 cents/lb around here I was hoping to sell the major unusable parts separately. For example, the transmission in a 2013 Dodge Dart with cracked side pan would add only $10 to the car body so I want to see what it might sell for by itself as a core.

Welcome from western PA. I mainly buy catalytic converters. I can tell you a Dodge Dart transmission would not have a core value. Diesel trucks, old 350 chevys, some Ford trucks are the main core value transmissions right now.

OK. Are they worth any more as scrap then?

They have no value as a core. You can scrap transmissions as dirty aluminum or tear it apart to get some clean aluminum.
