Tin definition confusion! Smbody plz explain!?!!

So some people describe tin as being lightweight sheet metal used on the outer shells of appliances and various things like that basically Shred price. $150/ton. $0.075/lbs. Okay now I find on infomine.com, and a few other stock market sites, that Tin at market value, is $8 or $9/ lbs. What are they referring to as tin? What makes "tin" Tin? I have possibly seen reference to maybe older antique sheeting on machine sheds? Or antique tin kitchen appliances or utencil ware, or antique tin toys? And if that is tin, are people just using tin as a slang to describe sheet metal?

Where can I find this 8 dollar a pound TIN?! what are some applications or products I can look for and how to distinguish TIN from. Galvanized or zinc plated or hdkshxjrjgkdjdh

With that being said, "tin" usually refers to light iron, shred, pressed metal, or sheet steel.

Real tin is non magnetic, and found in modern solder, old ceiling tiles, very old sheet metal, as an alloy in airplane windows and some digital displays, pewter, and electrodes in some lithium batteries ( dangerous to get ).

The symbol for tin in the periodic table is "Sn" tin is the major component in lead free solder used in modern electronics.

Tin cans used to preserve and distribute canned goods, the outer shell was made from iron the inside coated with a very thin layer of tin to protect the iron from acidic foods.

some places can shred or low grade scrap tin, like a tin can.

there is a metal/element called tin, that has a decent value. you will find some cooper wire that appears to be coated with aluminum....its usually coated with tin
