I have this refrigerator. I want to strip the stainless steel (non magnetic body panels) off of it. But dont know the best way to do it or if it is even worth it. The fridge is 5" feet wide and 6 feet tall. by 2 1/2 feet deep.
Any input would be appreciated.

I sold one for 1,800. Does it run? Even if the compressor is shot, it can be worth fixing. Or at least around here it is. Everyone thinks they need to be in the restaurant business.
When i got it they totally thrashed the electronics on it and inside of it. They stripped all the surface level parts. And left the core components. :-)Quote:

Yeah, I have a sawzall but not grinder. That is next on my list. Any idea on what im looking at for my time and labor at the scrap yard?
Depends on how deep you want to get into it. Since I have more time than money I'd take it all the way down.
Pull all the wiring. Pull all the stainless. Pull the compressor, cut it open and pull the copper.
Pull the coil and tear it apart. I don't have any suggestions on how to easily tear those down.
Pull off any copper lines.
Another thought is a mobile storage for tools out in the garage. I had a single door freezer on casters. Removed the refrigeration components and door, leaving the case and shelves. Now I roll it around in my shop as needed.
5 inch fridge? WOW! I'll even say it backwards. WOW!! Just for reference, " is inches and ' is feet. But, thank you for the post, as it allowed me to clarify that. It is a common mistake and needs to be addressed. If the stuff is gone, then scrap is all you can do with it.

Check the outside with a magnet. Some time the outside is polished steel not stainless. It may only be stainless on in side of cooler. The stainless is a pain and my not be worth your time. Good luck!
The factory wheel/casters were mounted into a rectangular frame. The frame is bolted to the bottom of the refrigerator. I unbolted the frame that has the casters and all. (6 bolts)
Im going to cover it with plywood.. Instant flat cart dolly. That should be good to move most appliances. Fridge weighed about 650lbs. Wheels are nice. They have locks. So when its on the back of my truck. It wont roll around. :)
