The DA Called Today

Well the DA called me today while I was at the shop. He wanted to talk about the thief we caught out there.

He chatted for a minute and then asked if I could give him the value of the trailer that was being stolen. That was a tough one as they do not have a lot of value at this point other than scrap value.

Anyway, I told him that I would guess around $200 tops...Well the DA said that he could not get him for a felony with that and then asked if I would approve letting the charges go...I was about to say "no" when he told me that the guy would be serving another 4 years of his original prison sentence for robbing houses anyway that he was on parole for.

So I agreed to just let the charge go since the guy was going to end up getting more time for the parole violation than he would for the misdemeanor charge in the first place. At least he is getting time out of the whole deal and not walking out of the jail free and clear.

Karma.....right on cue.

That works out good for you, as you wont have to waste a bunch of time giving depositions and going to court.
