Newbie - Scrap Xerox C3545 - Work Center Pro

Good Evening,

My company gave me an old Xerox copier under the condition that they never see it again. Any tips on scrapping one out for the first time and what is worth removing? Also, are there any specific hazards to look at for, charged capacitors, toxic drums, etc. I am familiar with the toner mess and breathing it. I will have a respirator for the first time.

I do a lot of eBay selling, what is the best way to list and describe components on eBay? Is auction format the way to go?Thank you!

I have scrapped old printers the size of a 20 foot trailer (literally) and I'll tell you this......Parts are hard to sell off these old units but one thing that does seem to have value is unopened OEM toner

Agree with mikeinreco. Just to get some exercise look up that model on ebay and go to the "sold" box and check it. This will give you all the sold listings for that model. I suspect you will not find anything.

How to list items on ebay? Do the same research, check out what has sold and read through the listings. I rarely argue with success so I emulate what others have done. 73, Mike

Both Mike and Mike have given some good advice. Each sells on ebay so that approach is covered.
I have turned down big copiers in the past just because they are so dang big and heavy. I am going to pick up a big one next week. It's sort of a package deal. I take the copier in order to get a pallet of old computers and all can be loaded with their forklift.
My plans for the copier are for it to stay in my vehicle for a couple of days until I can swing by the scrapyard. While it's in there, I will take a few minutes to remove the side panel and pull the main boards, ram and hard drive if it has one. That's all I do with printers/copiers. The next time I touch it will be when I push it out the back of my vehicle and watch it hit the concrete.
