Check The Numbers On The Chips !!!

I may sound like a broken record at times, but it really is worth your time to check the numbers on older cards and chips.

I just puled out 2 ISA slot cards ( sound card and a controller card ) ... one is worth $19 the other one $8 because they both have semi rare chips on them ! :cool:
$27 is a lot better than the $2 or $3 the cards are worth as pure scrap!

You see them listed for that on Ebay? You sold them for that price somewhere? Or you know a private collector that will pay that?

Ebay prices - and yes they are listed along with my other stuff.

So are you searching the number on the specific chip (AD1845JP on the sound card) or are you searching the part number for the card to find comparable prices?

Does the buyer take the chips off the board? Or are they bought for reuse?
I'm sure I have the same boards... (screenshot taken)

Conspiracy theory here >. The 'Triangles', and the 'eyes' ( 'i' ). All, or most, chips or parts have them as part of their logos......

some electronics guy do desolder the chips and then put them on other boards...they also can be used to fix rarer boards as well. I would imagine there are other uses for the programmable chips as well. I am not one of these people, but I just know enough how it works....I know IT, just I don't do the desolder and fix thing.

Both. Many times one number will show up, while another number will not .

How long does it take to find a buyer. I hate holding inventory. my garage is so packed with boards already...

They differ, you can check the number completed and the number of those that sold. This will give you a better idea. The good news is if you list it once then re-listing is easier. It does require very good control over the storage of the items for sale. Also listing takes up valuable time that could be used doing something else.
