My newest truck load of scrap

Got a truck full of scrap from my one and only regular customer. It's about all I can handle every 6-8 weeks anyhow, so I am not going to actively look for more just yet. I need to refine my techniques and get a balance on how far I want to break things down to. I'm sure everyone has their stopping point, otherwise we would be trying to melt the solder from the boards lol. No too shabby, 119 pcs of Ram, (some more in the pc's) 20 pc's, 2 servers, 8 flat screens, 6 battery back ups, etc... The pc's are a bit stripped down with most of their drives removed, including all hard drives. Have to see who is moving it my territory :( Not a bad haul for a 15 minute drive.

Not too shabby at all. Crazy how there is so much more Ram than the PCs can hold.

Are you a buyer, or do you get this stuff for free? Just curious because I end up buying 99% of what I get.

With an electric screw gun, stripping towers only takes a couple minutes each ...

What I separate:
mother board, sister boards, cards, RAM, hard drive boards, wires, heat sinks, processors, SSD, li-ion batteries

Due to shipping costs, i don't bother breaking down:
HDD, power supplies, fans, flat screens, drives, keyboards, e.t.c.

I think they were holding a lot of Ram from other computers until one of their techs could look them over and toss the obsolete ones in the scrap pile. I don't buy my scrap, I get it for free. If I get serious about scrapping, I will have to pay sometimes I'm sure. The IT company owner is a real nice guy and lets me have it for free. My wife works there so that is my connection to them.

Yep, I couldn't see breaking down a system without an electric / battery operated drill. That, and a nice drill bit kit with quick change bits. Every size and type imaginable!!!! I do go a bit further and take apart the power supplies and CD/DVD drives, but am starting to shy away from monitors and key boards for sure. I also take apart the battery backup units. I think I have 400lbs of batteries sitting now. I'll get rid of them soon, but they really don't take up much space.

This is one of my best scrapping tools. It's worth it's weight in gold.
