Cell phones with "permanent" battery

I've been saving any cell phones I get for a while now since I don't really get them too often. I'm starting to get close to the point where I have enough to be worth sending in. Most buyers prices for whole units are listed as "battery removed". My question is what about the phones with a non-removable battery such as iphones? It seems to be a trend that more and more phone models are coming sealed up where removing the battery is major surgery so to speak, as opposed to popping the cover and pulling. Are these phones an exception to the "battery removed" or should they be separated from the rest of the easily removed pile?

isnt there buyers who buy just the boards?
from what i know, cellphone boards are among the most expensive becos they yield a higher amount of gold than other items-except CPUs

if a buyer is paying u for cellphones with just the battery & cover removed, chances are theyre paying u way less
obviously the board alone weighs less than it would if just the battery & cover is removed but if u do the math, u will realise that overall, u make much more by selling to a buyers who offers a much higher rate for clean boards.

an example:
here in South Africa, the best price i can get for cellphones is R50 per kg
but for clean boards, i get over R180 per kg

I have never had any buyer on here question phones sent in with a permanent battery....THAT BEING SAID, I MIGHT have sent 1-2 in maybe...because if you are sending in IPHONES (really the phone most people associate with non removable batteries) for SCRAP, you are crazy (unless they are total destroyed). They are worth FAR more as a parts phone on Ebay. I have sold even the oldest ones on there for $5-10 (iphone 3) and damaged ones for well over the $3-4/lb you get for scrap phones.

Rethink what you are sending in for scrap...again, unless totally destroyed. My 2 cents.

I used to tear down phones but for all the extra trash I cant sell I don't mind others making money cause even the battery is worth money by itself for li-ion

Sell them as parts, broken down on CL or whatever you choose.

Or send them in an get whatever they pay you for it. While I'm not the biggest fan of reselling, even I take the time for Iphones and stuff of that nature. Buyers are everywhere for them, broken or not. Several buyers on here pay for cell phones whole, as boards, etc. Some even buy at better then scrap prices, but you better have some good phones. I could tell you who that buyer is but hey...he's listed in the buyer section an I'm not in the advertising business.

Far as your promise...well that's on you. I don't resell Hard Drives, an I trash most sim cards I receive that come with cell phones. For the rest of the phone I'll break it down or sell as is depending on the buyer. I run a business, an my first goal is to pay my bills an make a profit. I'm glad my work is beneficial to the rest of the world, but at the end of the day...feeling good doesn't pay my bills, mortgage, or put food on my table. An yes, I sleep just fine at night after selling Iphones, or whatever cell phone is "hot" now.

One can also always reset a cell back to factory settings to ensure even further you've gotten rid of any private data. I do this when selling phones that work. I've got tons of chargers laying around, so charging a phone to reset it, isn't hard at all. Same with Batteries. I keep plenty on hand for testing purposes.

As always...YMMV.

Oh an one can also do this with Kindles, Tablets, etc. Most devices that hold private info can be reset, the trick is..figuring out how to do so. lol.
