Kingman AZ
Kingman AZ here. Scrapping for a while hopefully prices raise soon as I am going to be forced to sell my magnetics soon if prices no matter what.
I will hold on to the aluminum and copper for a while longer. I have never seen prices stay low for this long.

Welcome to SMF. Members still active on the forum are true scrappers, not the fly by nights that come and go with the prices. Good luck at holding onto your magnets. That is the difference between the men and the boys.

Just buy and sell....repeat over and over and if u did it correctly at the end of the month you'll have a pile of cash

Welcome to the forum.
I have actually been getting more ewaste since prices have dropped and have to make regular runs to the scrapyard to sell my insulated copper, shred and aluminum.
I need the room to sort and box up my circuit boards.
Selling certain items at more than scrap value is something I've been doing also.
I also like taking things like monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers and small data switches and trading them for old PC's and other electronics with friends and co-workers.

Thanks all. I don't go around scrapping all the time. No adds, no cards, no craigslist. I just find it when I find it. I am not wanting too much junk but all the time. I am busy part of the year and cant find anything to do the 3 months I am out of work so I sing "A scrapping I will go, a scrapping I will go hi ho the dumpster dive....." It keeps me busy and makes me a few extra dollars here and there. I ant getting rich but just today I found a working washer (maytag) that looks bran new, a large cast alum grill, a old monatore, fan, and nice looking desk lamp. Just on our normal routs.

OH HECK NO.....Just took a bunch of scrap in and only gained $6.50 for my small trailer full...$30 ton? WOW lowest I ever sold for. I have to take in a few loads as I got to clean the property if I want to bring more in. I hate letting steel go for this price.

yep steel sucks! Check with your yard a newer one here started buying different grades of steel from peddlers, before everything went as sheet iron. Only problem is you need to sort your steel... sheet iron (shred), clean sheet iron, torch P&S, prepared. Granted only a few cents more per pound for them but better than nothing...
