marine grade starter
i was buying a couple auto batteries from a guy today (i paid him $3/each - $10 a pop around here) and he gave me a busted up looking "marine grade starter".... he seemed to think it would be worth something more than scrap value.... only a couple lbs and to me it looks like i'd get electric motor price or irony aluminum for it.... or am i wrong?

If it works, you sell it for reuse by someone. you will need to hook some voltage to tht bad boy and see if it turns. There should be a plate on it saying input voltage, rpms, etc.

i'd think it's too beat up for resale... no visible plate, junky looking.... some corroded parts, exposed chewed up copper wire... feeling like i'll be lucky to get $2... fine by me anyway of course

All "marine grade" really means is that its spark-proof (wont light fires because they have such bad consequences at sea). If its wiring is exposed it's probably no longer spark-proof.
