washington state laws suck

ive been reading on this forum about scrapping cars... Well it aint all that easy in this state after the research i have done... If i wanted to scrap a car i would have to have a hulk haulers license... And i cant even remove parts... If i wanted to remove parts ie.. Cats trannies wiring harness etc... I would have to have a wreckers license.... And of course i would have to have the title.... Ive hauled in parts and that was ok but it seems its harder to haul in a shell of a car... And you cant cut it up unless you have a wrecers license... Does any other state do this???? When i google hulk hauler only washington state pops up..... ???? Illegal scrapping is a big problem in this state and they have made it hard for the legitimate scrappers... A person with a hulk haulers license can only sell to a wrecking yard or scrap yard... But here wrecking yards dont buy.. The laws here are screwy

Sounds like the State found a source of revenue.

-How far away from the border are you? You could take it across the border into Oregon or somewhere if you're close enough. Only problem is the possible legality.

-Even if you did take anything off a car, who's to say you pulled it off? Maybe you bought it off a repair shop.

-Is the law even enforced?

-Is getting a liscense that big of a deal? Are there a million hoops to jump through to get one?

A few things to consider

That is messed up. My home state doesn't even issue titles for vehicles older than 15 years, so a law requiring titles for junking cars would be impossible.
Where are you at? I'm looking at moving to Wenatchee area.

@ murt... Im in the olympia area. Im known to collect scrap in the thurston, pierce, king, and shohomish counties. Wenatchee!!!!! Good luck finding scrap there... Your gonna wanna cross the mountains to get scrap... More people more scrap... The best places to scrap in eastern washington is the spokane and tri-cities area... Where are you coming from???
