I get dozens of tv boards a week. I've got three 49 gallon storage containers full of them.
I'm wondering if I should:
1-leave everything on it and sell it online for 10 cents a pound
or
2-remove all the copper & aluminum then sell them
In your experience, which is best route to go?

Quick question.......where online are you getting .10/LB after shipping?
Board sort had them listed for 10 cents a pound, but it isn't after shipping.Quote:

Chester I'm with you on divying up the boards. I'll be looking in the forums for info/ideas as well. Don't have as much as you, but...
Saw you were in NN. Former Navy here, spent most of my time Norfolk, Va Beach. Lived Middle Pennisula and Northern Neck too.
Just wondering if you have any local yards that buy boards and what they are paying.
I snip wires, pull aluminum heat sinks, transformers, and transistors, in that order. I break off any other large items so the boards stack in the box better. Vice-grips work great for the transformers, just squeeze gently and twist, or for tougher ones, squeeze harder and crush. The yard I usually go to doesn't deal with e-waste, but they buy stripped boards for copper bearing price, which was .07/lb a few months ago. I'm sure I could get a bit more at other yards, but this one is only 5 mins away. I wouldn't dream of shipping them, except for maybe boards from appliances as replacement parts. However, I am now experimenting with building electronics for the first time, and TV boards seem to be good to practice de-soldering and learning about the components, so I'm going to save them up for a few months. I'm starting to pull LEDs, switches, relays, and anything else that seems interesting. I'm sure I can find buyers for the components alot easier than TV boards whole.
I am getting $.18 - $.22 for low grade boards at local yard. At that price I keep the stuff on the boards except the insulated wire...
