Recycling--Slowly--Pointless thread

Sorry for the pointless thread. I have a small repair shop on a small island in Alaska. A while back I started saving all the 'junk' I get in here. I break it down as it comes in and save the electronics. I just counted my little CPU box and found i have 246 CPU's in there. I know its all small stuff to you folks but it is what it is. That means I have at least that many computers broke down in storage. I know I have quite a few more machines under there than that. I also have quite a few extra hard drives, broken down tv's, monitors, marine electronics, etc. under there. At some point I'll have enough to send south but still, I'm happy that its just that much less crap that ended up in the trash.

For some that would be small, for some big. Welcome to the forum. There's nothing wrong with keeping anything out of a landfill or finding a second use for it. Keep it up!

I look at mine and think 'each one of those is a thousand $ computer'...

Yeah,I have close to 1/2 a million $ in my spare room.

dbalaska - I don't think 246 CPU's is "small stuff", I haven't counted mine in awhile, I'm guessing you have 240 more than me. I do get a lot of computers to scrap, very seldom are they complete units and almost always the CPU's have been pulled. The good thing for me, most of the time everything else is still there, I don't know why (they) pull the CPU's but leave the memory, HD's, and video cards (not complaining).

Also thanks for doing your part in keeping things from being trashed, dumped in the ocean or a hole in the ground, keep up the good work.
