How long would u wait to be paid by a forum member before u began to worry that payment will never come?
That greatly depends on the forum member. I can say I have not ever waited longer than a few weeks to be paid by any buyer here, so after that I would start to worry.
I would be giving genial nudges and hints after 10 days. this is a small profit quick turn over business.
MY recent unexpected physical turn around has set my company on it's head, but all things can be worked out. Contact the person and work it out , we are brothers and sisters, that however is not an excuse to take advantage of a family member.
I have given several hints that this should be taken care of not sure my next course of action as this has not happened in a long time
How large was the lot? More than scrap, or scrap (More than scrap takes longer to test)? Have you worked with this buyer before?
New buyer to me was one medium flat rate of memory going on 3 weeks now more than scrap
Three weeks for a medium FRB? If there has been no contact, that's not good. Even if it's a full box, they should either be done with it, or at least have a status update- especially if it's one of the larger RAM buyers (The smaller ones like me don't have the same horsepower of testing benches as the large ones do).
Oh well if no payment is made I will leave a review on their buyers thread so no one else makes the same mistake
I personally would prefer your review and sharing info. I've had some dependable buyers run into trouble in the last two months and some payouts have been questionable. let's keep each other aware of who is struggling and shady when money is tight, and who is dependable as the day is long.
of course as a buyer myself, patience and working it out goes a long way before a review needs to be left.
I will try to call buyer tommorow and see how it goes
Buyer has contacted me and promised payment tommorow
Glad to hear it! I figure that an update every now and then is helpful- as both a buyer and a seller.
Hopefully this works out in the end for you....
Sure as shoot Eco! That's right.. we all work hard for our $ and should expect payment of what we have coming to us in a timely fashion! One of my favorite sayings is "Don't mistake kindness for weakness" Taking advantage of a fellow brother or sister is definitely not cool!
I am both a buyer and seller on the internet.......These transactions take precedence over most everything else.........There are several reasons why......First the person has trusted you with the material and instead of selling local has trusted a complete stranger to make payment......Second my reputation is everything to me......I don't care if you like me or not but I have and will always do what I say I'm going to.....Third......Internet transactions take longer to process because of shipping or checks being mailed or pay-pal being slow ETC........Either way on EBAY and here on this FORUM all internet Transactions will be handled by me promptly and without QUESTION.....THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Reputation is everything in the business world. If a customer feels you don't care about them they will go to the competition. Here's something to look at: Small Business Truth #2
I agree 3 weeks ia little excessive. You buy stuff from new people to attempt to get repeat business right? Not a good business strat for the buyer. Sorry to hear it's not working out.
