No-brainer discovery

while it's a No-brainer , for the whole time I scrapped I always kept to do projects or not ready to sell items in work truck .
The mess , the weight , was counterproductive .
Recently I needed work truck for a trip . Once emptied I made discoveries .
First & foremost MPG - - an empty truck saves on fuel -lugging around 500 to 1000 pounds reduces MPG .
Being unorganized causes money loss .
It's a new day for me and I love the feeling . What goes into truck sells & when I leave yard my truck is empty and ready to reload.

Prices are down efficiency is essential

I never noticed either till last fall, I was looking at my scale tickets and wondered why one unloaded tare was very low...Cleaned out my truck that week..
on average 400-800 lbs of stuff tagging along.

Finally after 2 1/2 years I know the trucks weight - 5275 pounds with me not in truck

I finally see a truth of the 318 .
keep it empty , but load as needed (no problem )
use the toque curve even if it's a bit slow.
MPG's not so bad after all .

I know for performance cars every 100 pounds equals loss of time on the quarter mile
there must be a consistent MPG loss for useless weight

I weighed out today at 5350 # I used to weigh out at best at 5900 often 6500 - 6700 after a load , some times I took the Dodge 1500 - to 8900 # stupid me . Dodges have a mixed up heritage true American to Mercedes to some corporate name to Fiat ,regardless there rugged .
