Where I work prices for AL except siding dropped to .35 cents a pound. Siding is a nickel higher. I don't ever remember prices like this since I started scrapping but my boss said he has seen AL down to .20 a pound and yards closing due to low prices.
The big yard by me is also low on cans, .38 cents a pound.
Copper is up though over $2.00 finally.
I'm not surprised NA. Prices seem to be trending down. Everyone said that they would come back up in the spring but i think it's going to be longer term. :(
Our old sheet (?) is .45 and cans are .40
It'd be nice if aluminum went up but right now here it's $0.40/lb(then maybe my tabs'll be worth a million lol).
My company makes around 500-600 million lbs of it a year. It needs to go back up in price.
I am getting $0.40 lb on cans here in St.Louis as well.
aluminum will stay down for a little while. 2-3 months,
steel should go right with a gradual increase for the next 6 months
nickle (Stainless) is down and will stay there for 1-2 months

#1 clean copper 1.85...it was $3.20 when I started scrapping...aaaaand didn't have any.

Low grade MB .06 - They're getting glorified cardboard. "No meat on the bones!"
I was surprised to see it dropped at my yard too. Aluminum has always been the one thing around here that held around .50-.55/lb its down to .47 now for cans other aluminum is usually a few cents below that.
24 lb of clean aluminum sheet at $0.25 lb . $6 WOW I have never seen it below $0.36 in my 5 years of scrapping. This is Palestine, Tx. BTW
BOY I am stockpiling what I can get. I have a lot more room to store. PRICES KEEP FALLING and I will be thrilled. Unless I run out of room then its GRRRRRRRRRRRR GO UP TIME. I haven't even checked the prices lately as I just check when I see a change in available material.
At Pacific, Low Grade is shred, right? If so, $0.06 is up a good deal. Last month, it was $45/Ton.
Glorified cardboard is the only thing they're getting from me! The rest will go to Schnitzer.
