Been scrappin' for about 20 years. Went to the scrapyard the other day, had mixed aluminum on my trailer. Usually where i go the guy just brings out three dumpsters and lets me sort my load into each one, clip, sheet, and extruded. And I have a couple of barrels of some other types on there as well. This time, there was a new guy, he informed me that my extruded was #1, and #2, never had heard this before. He said that all painted extruded was #2. I was amazed, and asked him if he would like me to steam wash the aluminum the next time I brought it in. I take all steel and glass out of my extruded. it's as clean as I can get it without physically washing it. Anyone else ever run into this???? Check the ISRI standards, it says nothing about painted extruded aluminum...:mad:
