Found 6 of these on the curb last night.
They're not very heavy, they feel like they might be aluminum.
Anybody had any luck scrapping them?

I would say Dirty Stainless. Also I think if you get ahold of Pepsi they may have a deposit attached to them like a keg would, if they do I am sure it would be more than the scrap value of the item... After all the item is owned by the Pepsi Distributor and I am sure they would like to get them back.
Sell them on Craigslist for Home Brewers.

I cut "one" up, but what a PITA, as there is two layers of ss.
If i remember correctly they run around 75-80 psi so pull the pressure relief pin before opening;)
It all depends on your yard but if you had to grade them they would be dirty SS. They are technically property of Pepsi or whoever it the soda syrup distributor as they are supposed to be swapped for full ones when the fountain system runs out. Some yards don't care but some maybe more strict so just be weary.
Those are called cornelius kegs, and very valuable to home brewers. can fetch $50-75 ea in my area. there are 2 kinds, pinlock and ball lock, make sure the seals are on the lids, and list em up! At Coke we used the ball lock (before bag-in-a-box), pepsi was pin, but that's more of a local bottler thing, and no they are not property of the bottler unless specifically marked.
Now I'm gonna have my eyes peeled for these things! Nice find and kudos on not just scrapping something that should bring you 100x more than scrap value! I'm assuming with the dual layer SS you wouldn't have taken them apart. PITA I imagine.
