Fiber wrapped copper from old motors
Hi- I searched a bit but could not find anything related to this. I have broken down my second electric motor, fairly large and quite old, and the windings are two gauges of copper wire with a very fine fiber wrapping, like fine thread. Because the gauge is fairly small its hard to strip this stuff off, also its kind of soaked in oil. I wondered if anyone had a way to clean it off, technically its insulated but not with plastic. Not sure I can include it with my stripped #2 wire.
Thanks Tdean
