Selling Ingots?
Hey fellow scrappers!
I'm just wondering would it be a good idea to smelt ingots and sell them to the end users, like a foundry or refinery. I have an ill feeling that they will only accept MASSIVE bulks of ingots like 10 tons when I could only supply them with less.
-
huge question best answer really I have is that you have to find a buyer and have to either do that bulk or be able to do the purity research research research and lots of calling

I melt down lead wheel weights and almost all lead and pour it into muffin tins make ingots and sell it that way

Selling Ingots?
I doubt you'll find too many buyers except for maybe Ebay. If they were stamped, it would help you out a lot, but then you have the purity issue. Most scrap yards don't buy ingots

Depends what you are smelting, what melting heat you need, which in turn will dictate what equiptnent u need. It will be hard finding a buyer.
-
too much hassle and hard to sell if not pre arranged.

This is the general consences. For the actual value of the Ali its not worth it.
Also, by changing the shape you are turning it into a unknown Ali alloy. Or 'Domestic Ali' @ the lowest price.
You can only cast ex cast Ali, any other Ali will not cast well.
So far I know of only two exceptions, you are casting the ali into something more valuable.
You are melting the Ali off ' Irony Ali' to increase its value.
