Boards, AM I missing anything?

So i just got a huge EWaste contract and I'm not sure what all I'm looking at. I pulled all the metal off and the copper off. Is there anything on these boards that I am missing? Also, the brown boards are green on one side, what would that be considered?

Hope you didn't pay much if anything for what you've got here.

1st photo, you've got 1 DVD or CD board, rest looks to be mid grade, maybe mid high.

2nd and 3rd photo look to be mid grade, maybe mid high.

4th, 5th and 6th photo are low grade.

On the 4th, 5th and 6th, if you are pulling the copper bearing items, you missed the transformers.

As far as prices, using a buyer on here, the DVD board is $3.00 per pound, the mid grade maybe $1.30 per pound. The low grade is not worth shipping. You may have a local yard that may pay around $0.15 per pound.

I have an idea what I'm looking at such as resistors, capacitors, etc... This is what I have on hand now, tomorrow I pick up all the ewaste from a regional school unit. What parts are the transformers? I understand the board grades. I'll rephrase, what am i missing when it comes to stripping down.

the transformers are the larger square things with the round middles on the brown boards. Personally I only make a few cents more a pound than my brown board prices so I don't even mess with them. Best way to get them off unless you have a board heater is a chisel and a hammer to "cut" the soldered legs from the board (typically 6 of them). Again depends on the $$$ you get for copper bearing..

I personally don't care because the $$ I get for the other ewaste stuff FAR outpaces the time I would spend messing with that stuff...ie a few cents a pound for copper bearing vs a couple $$ a pound for many green board stuff. YMMV. Basically working smarter and not as hard for WAY more $$ for the time invested.

Why are you stripping them? You are devaluing the motherboards you could be selling whole. Especially when it really seems like you have no idea what you're doing...

Are you planning to sell these boards to a buyer on the forum or a scrapyard? Ask your buyer how they want them prepared and what you should and should NOT remove.

Brown boards are not worth shipping. If you want to pull off something valuable from them then get the ic chips and flat packs. Do NOT pull these off any mid-grade+ boards you plan to sell whole to a buyer.

Why can't I get these "HUGE" ewaste contracts?........Oh well not much value there partner hope there is some better stuff and I wish you all the best!!!!

Fubar I thank you for the pictures, it helps me a lot as I have a lot of learning to do myself with boards and sorting. You other guys I thank you for taking the time to help a new member.

Alright, So I'll just leave the brown boards all together. And if this confused any, this is not from my new contract. These are just some electronics I picked up yesterday from a regular metal pickup that they threw in. Today I pick up a few loads from a regional school unit, thats all the old computers, UPS, laptops, servers from 18 different schools. So I added these to get some advice before I start tearing apart the incoming computers that I cant refurbish. I have seen alot of people yanking processors so now I'm a little confused as to weather I should or shouldn't. I do have a local buyers from green boards but its like 1.60 a lb. I though some processors went alot more than that.

Sell all low grade green boards to buyer for 1.60......Anything higher sell to a buyer on this forum......hope this helps

On the brown boards also, get the transformers, get the alum heatsinks, and I take time to pull the small pushbuttons off. (there's gold buttons inside of them). There is also a buyer for the transistors attached to heatsinks.

OH and DO NOT, DO NOT sell your processors for $1.70/lb....SOME green boards you should sell at $1.70 and SOME you shouldn't (even with shipping)...I sent 140lbs of stuff to ewasted and his shipping cost was only about .37/lb for that much. I CAN show you what you can get away with taking off and what you can't (and YES you CAN take certain things off and not get dinged....but depends on the board and the item you take off).
