Circuit boards in general.

This has probably been cover already and I apologize if this is a double post.

I have a wide range of circuit boards from CRT's to cell phone to motherboards. I did check all the boards so far and pulled two with resell value over scrap. Now what? If I take my time and pull all the copper coil, heat sinks, transformers, and all that what do I do with a stripped board? is a stripped board trash after that? I am just talk in general. I am still learning board grades and looking for a local e-waste buyer.

Or do I leave it alone and not strip it. Time is not an issues as I have plenty of time and space to store up. I am in no hurry either.

Most computer boards, as well as cell phone boards, are high grade. These will still be worth money after you strip copper and aluminum off of them. If you build up enough computer boards, ram, and cpus, then you can ship them to an e-waste buyer for a good amount of money. Boards from crt tvs and microwaves are always low-grade. I don't have a lot of room, so after I strip low grade boards I toss them, but some people can throw them in with shred, or sell them by the lb.

I sell my low grade for .18 a lb after stripping some goodies, better than steel prices.
Goodies are transformers, relays, copper coils, alum. heatsinks, etc.

Low grade brown boards $.10 lb and green $.25 lb better than the steel pile...

It's a matter or personal preference but i try to avoid breaking down any circuit boards. There's an old fulla that doesn't have much. I give all of my brown power supply boards to him so that he can get the copper & aluminum and make a little bit. I prep the green boards and then ship them to one of the buyers here on the forum.

Pull the bigger heavy transformers, large can caps, the buyer wants other stuff on there besides fluff or dead weight.

I disagree, if a board has a transformer and large can caps it would be called a "power board" and pays a little more than low grade boards, the green ones will pay a few cents more than the brown ones. To prep the boards means to take off any steel, aluminum heat sinks and any plastic. On power boards don't take anything off and most buyers will down grade the boards if anything other than the fore mentioned items are removed from the boards. This has been my experience over the last seven years.
