Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot but I guess this would be considered a "Day in the life of a scrapper" - Robbery

This hits home as this is my main yard I sell Non-Ferrous and Ferrous to and the man in the video is the owner and a great person.

The gun jammed, inside job, one of the robbers was on the phone getting directions to where the safe is in the main office.

The owner should have cell phone numbers for all his employees. A search warrant could be obtained for all phones by employees, checking incoming and outgoing calls. This would narrow the search quickly. If the office phone was used, it would have been very easy.

sorry for your experience it is scary. Got kidnapped once when my girlfriend (now my wife) put all the guns in the trunk instead of one under the seat as instructed and once at knife point by 2 when I left my gun under the seat while I went to the truck stop to eat. The second incident is why I'm very much in favor of open or concealed carry any where any time. "Good guys will be good and bad guys will be bad regardless of the law"

The non-ferrous guy I go to is funny because he likes giving out 50 cent pieces and $2 bills. Most of my runs there are smaller so I usually get one of these currencies. Although he's never said anything, I'm sure there's at least 1 form of heat, if not multiple in the small office where the money comes out. They have a drive through operation so a person doesn't have to get out of their vehicle to get paid (I always do). They're mostly busy with people in line. I don't think a robbery would go over very well because the perp(s) would have to control the owner, 2-3 employees and usually 2-3 vehicles in line. It would be real easy for someone in line to pretend they were following the perp's orders and hit 911 on their cell out of sight. If they did manage to get the money, someone using a wad of $2 bills might stand out to a store clerk :cool:

I dunno ... i watched the video four times and all i can think to myself is : What a complete cluster**** ! Is it for real ? Is it really what it seems ? Is that what real life looks like ?

It was funny in a sad kind of way. You got these two robbers thinking they're all badass just because they've got a gun. The gun jams at the worst possible time and the whole power dynamic shifts to the one lone man that has a real pair of cajones.

It shows you who is weak and who is strong.

I can't imagine anything worse than finding myself in a situation where the firearm failed to work when it was needed most. It would be better to go into it without that false sense of confidence.
