Hi ALL
Hi all,
Just a quick few lines to introduce myself, been lurking for a week or so now and thought it was only appropriate to do so.
Screen name - ScrapMetalMania.
Real name - Mike.
Based in Manchester, UK
I am relatively new to the scrap metal game but have recently been scrapping out electronics in my spare time, I had no idea the extent to which I was until I took stock of all the bits that I had accumulated and slowly I am realising that I may be able to do this on a scale that would allow me to make it my full time occupation.
Will obviously be more involved in the electronic's threads on the forum but depending on the direction I take things may get involved in all aspects of the Scrap Metal Game
For now its a quick hello but I hope to gain a lot from the forum and obviously contribute as time goes on.
Regards,
Mike aka ScrapMetalMania

My understanding is the UK and EU both have subsidies to the companies who sell primary e waste products (consumer electronics including computers and TVs) which makes dealing with a buyer a tough call. Way I figure it, in certain cases you might find say...memory, CPUs, hard drive logic boards at a high enough recovery price to export if it came to that. Otherwise, hit up google and have a look around. If you have any questions we are all happy to help.
Ohhh and I am curious, what kind of e waste can you get ahold of over there?

Mania… if you want you get into it really hardcore, there are some refineries in the UK(mind you, you need some tonnage for this route!) that have better processes in spades than some here. Not to diss any refiners here on the forum as you all have your niche and much needed purpose, but what Ive read about some of those refineries in the UK is astounding. If you can't find any over there you like, there are a LOT of great buyers on this forum that will straight hook you up! Good luck!
Every company's greatest assets are its customers, because without customers there is no company.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with others you need to do the additional study for doing this business in the UK. We have several members there and I would spend time reading their posts. Mike
