Water Cooler
This is the first water cooler I've gotten - it's one like we used to have in school. Lots of copper. Can anybody tell me about this thing that's under the drain? It's encased in VERY thick insulation (white in the picture). I poked through the insulation and I'm assuming it's a sheet of copper - red and not magnetic. The whole thing isn't more than a couple pounds. The drain pipe went through it and there were two copper pipes attached - you can see where I cut them. I can't even figure out why it's there - around the drain pipe.

I finally got around to it. It turned into about five pounds of copper coil:

(I'm still not figuring out how to copy and paste the picture, itself.)

Hi Mick, That looks like it could have been part of the cooling system to chill the water.?? Just a guess,
AS far as putting the picture up, you've already gotten it on photobucket; just copy the address of the pic. and right above where I'm typing(right above the posting window) is an envelope and to the right of it is a tiny pic? just click on that and paste the address and that'll put it up. Hope that's not too cornfusing,,, LOL Mike

Thanks, Mike. I think I've got it. I was using the "Go Advanced" button and then "Manage Attachments" when I needed to use the "Quick Reply" feature. I wasn't finding the envelope and picture buttons. Then feeling really frustrated. Thanks.

I've got 2 water coolers I just broke down - phone is dead to take a pic right now but the section at the top, the silver bucket the water sets in that has the copper coiling around it to cool, would that be aluminum or SS? Its got some heft to it so I'm thinking stainless?

I tore one down a few months ago. Had a very light pull on the magnet. I'm thinkin' shred.
