Hello Scrap Metal Forums Family:

My username is "lasermoth (irresistibly attracted to focused, non-diffused light) and I am very new to the business of scrapping. I work for an animal shelter and we have discovered that we can make a little money for the pets by recycling rather than trashing things. We have old computer parts and various types of other scrap metal from time to time that we hope can generate some extra funding.

I discovered scrapping when I was recycling my aluminum drink cans. At the metal yard I saw all kinds of junk metal being brought in and people taking real money for their efforts, so I realized there was an untapped resource for us here.

I am grateful to have discovered you and I will endeavor to ask questions in the correct forums and comply with the established rules and requirements.

Animal shelters are always asking for donations in the form of dog food, cat food, kitty liter, and of course money. This might be a new avenue to help the animals. Have a local scrap day, have the local yard throw some additional profits your way, and you will have a whole new group of individuals that might be willing to donate. I am sure members of this forum would have some great ideas to push start a drive such as this. Just an idea.
