Scale to buy?
Looking to purchase a scale that can measure pounds and oz's to the exact oz. So far all i can find that does this is a 110lb max shipping scale that's only 8 inches wide platform. What does you guys recommend for weighing things at home to get an idea of what things weigh and to buy certain items from other people? Not looking to spend much though.

I think this is the one I use.........The platform is not huge but you can stack about 10-12 towers on it no problem.......It is not super accurate on individual processors but what do you expect..........More than likely you will need two scales........One for larger items and one for the small stuff

I've got 2. First one was bought thru Staples.com with my ink recycling rewards. Believe it was about $170, but I had purchased a box of empty cartridges on line for about $0.20 each. This essentially made my cost about $17. This one weighs to the half pound, but won't register until there are a few pounds on it. Platform is probably 15" x 15". My 2nd scale is one that I bought for refrigerant recovery. Platform is tiny, think about the size to put a propane tank on it. In addition to using it for refrigerant recovery, I use it when I purchase E-waste. Weighs to the quarter ounce. This one was about $200.

I use this. It has lbs. Oz. and Grams. Only weighs up to 30 lbs. though.

I use one of those types of scales you see at the doctors office that you stand on. I found it in the trash on my street and it works perfectly. They are pretty expensive to buy new though, like up to $200.

Scale to buy?
I use a refrigerant scale that I have for the shop it is good for 110 pounds. it works well for ewaste. you may be able to come across a used one since most shops use a reclaim recharge machine with a built in scale

i picked up an 80 lb one that does lbs, lbs & oz, oz, G, and kg. It doesn't register grams until about 30-40 but everything else is good if it weighs over like .5 oz and its pretty accurate I use it to weigh scrap before I go to yard and for ebay shipping

Just remember if you are using the scale to buy anything it needs to be NIST certified and in most places you have someone from the state or county come to inspect it.
