Ll lost a a w wheel w w weight last n night

Lol, thats what I sounded like driving around last night. Stupid crapped up chunk missing roads! It was like, ''th th there's a a d d dishwasher i its on y y your s ss ide.'' :&

Can't believe something as small as a silver dollar throws the wheel off that much, feels like you'd need a 10 lb weight to balance it and 4 hands to steady the wheel but I wasn't going to stop till the truck was full lmao. Just clench your teeth so they don't rattle together! :lol:

Came home and put the spare on and weighed out enough back up brass to cover the cost. lol, scrapping rocks. but, had to use scrap to cover the damage from scrapping!!

Was it the older style weights or the newer flat ones that stick to the rim?

the flat one - you could see the spot where it was melted onto the rim.

I've been running airsoft BBs in all my trucks and cars for about 4 years (about 80,000 combined miles) with no complaints. you usually use about 3 to 6 oz per tire, depending on size. The fun thing is, you can hear the BBs rolling around when you're driving below 10mph

Iv got kinda the same in my truck tires. Iv got large 35in tires on 20in rims, iv got sand in mine instead of BBs. Works very well. Very smooth... well... smooth for a 3500 with 35in tires LOL

I'vev never heard of using anything like either of those to balance tires!

If you have larger tires than stock, sand/bb's and the like work better because you can put weights on the rim but if the tire is unbalanced the outer edge is too far from the rim for the regular weights to make a difference. So you put weights on the rim before you put the tire on to balance that and then bb's/sand to balance the tire itself

Sand! Why didn't I think of that? You could insert it without breaking the bead by removing the valve core. Jord, how long have you used sand in your tires? I'm a little worried that moisture from an air compressor would work it's way into the tire, condense, and cause the sand to clump up..

Only had this truck since april and thats the first time iv used sand. So far so good. Usually if brought to a shop they have water/moisture filters to keep that from happening, our shops compressor has one and our tire machine also has one, otherwise all my air tools would rust and seize up after a while. If you do it at home and the compressor doesnt have a moisture filter, just do it on a really dry day I guess lol

Any of you need sand, I'll gladly send you bucketful. You can even keep the seashells.
