Question for the Computer Rebuilders here about a Microsoft OEM System Builder Pack
Ok, I'm hoping someone with experience on rebuilding pc's can help me out. I know someone here was certified by microsoft too I just can't find that thread of who it was. Anyway, I recently found this Microsoft OEM System Builder Pack for Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-Bit and it's still sealed. I was looking these up and I only found one on ebay that's an exact match of mine and it recently sold for $120 (recently being late february). So I'm about to list it up when I notice some of the other listings for system builder packs mention they have to send some hardware with it to comply with ebay and microsoft policies. (One listing just says they ship it with an untested hard drive). Does any one know anything about this? I don't want to violate a policy and get myself in trouble. Here's a pic of what I have. THanks

although not the certifided person you were looking for, I am both a rebuilder and hold several certs from microsoft.
you just need a part to ship with. I normally shipped the sound cables off cd/ dvd players. they are tiny and fit in a tiny package as well.
ebay may have different requirements but micrsoft just requires that the software cant be sold alone. so as stated above just ship a small part. you dont have to send a functional one.
not sure if it is against ebay policy but have seen a few sold as cd sleeves( xxxx os disk included) cd sleeve is sealed and sold as is contents of sleeve included. by selling the sleeve they are playing word games to get around policys put in place by microsoft and ebay. the sleeve is not regulated by either. the fact it has restricted software included is just a coincidence. ;-)

I sold a guy I think it was 10 or that hard drives that he bought solely to be used to sell software on eBay... Made better money then scrapping them
