Question for any Utah car scrappers

Yesterday I went to take a junk car to one of the yards I use and they said they wouldn't take it unless the title was in my name. They said this was a new law. ??? The title was signed by the previous owner so I don't see what the big deal is. That would be a huge pain (and cost) to have to go down to the DMV, pay, get the title in my name, and then wait 2 or 3 weeks for the title. Anyone else from Utah ran into this problem?

I ended up calling another yard and they took it.

State Law in Colorado says you need a title in your name to scrap but most yards take them anyway. My yard goes by the law but it's only $7.20 to transfer title and 99% of the time they (DMV) issue the new title on the spot.
