Is there a way to test a laptop battery with just the battery? Called batteries plus to ask to see if they would test them but they said they didn't want anything to do with me selling them. I even said I would pay to have them tested.

You can do it with a multimeter. Here are instructions on how to do that: How to Test a Laptop Battery | Tech Channel - RadioShack (scroll down to get to the part about using the multimeter).
There are other websites with this information as well, so if you don't like that site, just google "multimeter laptop battery."
With out a laptop I just have the batteries
My bad, I was thinking of a power adapter, not a battery. Yeah, if the battery is discharged and you have no way to recharge it, then I can't think of a way to test whether it's able to hold a charge. Can you just find someone with a laptop that uses that battery?Quote:

Can't you just sell the batteries as scrap. My e-waste buyer buys them and I think some of the buyers here on the forum will buy them as well.
You can also use the date of manufacture to guess whether or not they're likely to be reusable. If these are the usual lithium-ion batteries, as a rule of thumb their performance degrades significantly after about 2 years.
That's just a rule of thumb. But for example, one of my laptops is 4 years old, and its battery only lasts for about 15 minutes.
